Hi, I’m Andra Blackheart
I’m a Tampa, FL native and two time University of South Florida graduate (GO BULLS!) with an undergraduate degree in psychology and political science and a masters degree in social work. I’ve always had a deep interest in how people can live more connected lives, and focused on building intimacy in my undergraduate thesis and graduate research.
I’m a telehealth based licensed clinical social worker (LCSW SW21899) serving the state of Florida for therapy and diagnostic evaluations, and the world for coaching services, with an emphasis on healing through connection for all services.
I believe that community and relational healing is important and the preferred way to manage most mental health related issues. Building on individual strengths, social and community supports, and managing physical health to sustain progress without continuing therapy forever is a large part of my practice. I WANT YOU TO FIRE ME.
I recognize and respect cultural complexity and intersectionality as a neurodivergent, black, bisexual, second-generation immigrant, and understand that how different parts of your identity work together creates your personal journey.
I understand that building rapport and having a connection to your therapist/coach/evaluator is a huge part of successfully making change and if you’d like to know more about me and how I can support you, please feel free to reach out for additional information.
My Approach
For therapy and coaching, I use a combination of evidence based interventions to create change including solution-focused brief therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, the Satir growth model, motivational interviewing, cognitive processing therapy, and the introduction of practical tools and techniques to improve connection, communication, and accommodation.
Therapy
For therapy, there will be a primary diagnosis and treatment plan aimed at reducing specific mental health symptoms related to your diagnosis, limited to Florida clients (currently in Florida at the time of session).
Coaching
For coaching, there will be specific behavioral or cognitive changes, unrelated to a mental health diagnosis, and may be more personal with practice-based solutions vs evidence-based.
